My Approach to therapy
I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in California (#152066). I earned my master’s in clinical psychology at Antioch University in Los Angeles.
I didn’t start out in this field. I’ve run a bar on a Greek island, done graphic design, gone back to school a few times, and gathered a couple of degrees on the way. I’m also in recovery, and that keeps me honest about change and how hard it can be.
I see the world through an existential/ Buddhist/ Philosophical lens: it shapes how I work. I don’t believe in giving people a set of rules for how to live, though I do think a bit of homework can help between sessions. Sometimes things click fast; sometimes it’s a process of slow and steady clarification.Fundamentally, therapy is a conversation where we figure things out together.
That means I’ll ask questions, such as "what's not working in your life?"
The second part of the question being: "What are you willing to change?”
So if you think we might be a good fit, get in touch.
Would we be a good fit?
