Approach

I'm a queer therapist in recovery, with a background in substance use, harm reduction, and group facilitation. I spent a good many years in the rinse-and-repeat cycle of addiction before finding my way out — which tends to be useful in this work.I also have a Fine Arts degree, an MA in Creative Writing, published a few books, and at one point owned a bar on a Greek island. I bring bits and pieces of all of it in.I'm not here to nod slowly and ask how that makes you feel. Therapy with me is collaborative, honest, and has some humour in it — because sometimes the hard stuff is also absurd. My approach draws on Buddhist psychology, existential and narrative therapy, and certified mindfulness teaching. Between sessions I'll often suggest small things to try. Nothing overwhelming — just enough to keep things moving.

...sometimes acknowledging the sheer absurdity of being human is actually the most useful thing we can do

I work with adults across California who are:

  • Part of the LGBTQ+ community navigating identity and self-worth

  • Dealing with hard-to-shake breakup pain or relationship transitions

  • Navigating non-monogamy, open relationships, or unconventional relationship structures

  • Feeling stuck, flat, or just going through the motions

  • In the middle of a life transition and not entirely sure what comes next

  • Carrying a low-grade existential dread about the general state of things

  • Veterans adjusting to civilian life or working through what came home with them

  • In early recovery, or starting to question their relationship with substances

  • Looking for practical tools alongside the deeper work

I've been around the block a few times, so I work well with people who have too — or people who haven't yet and are wondering how to start.

I accept Anthem, Blue Shield, and Magellan insurance, and offer sliding scale fees. Individual sessions are $150 (50 min). Cost shouldn't be the reason you don't get support — so please just ask.Free 15-minute consultation: 323 813 7046Telehealth only, because nobody actually enjoys driving in SoCal.
Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm, with some flexibility.

FAQ

Completely fine. Most people aren't sure what to expect at first — we just start talking and go from there.

Very common, and completely fine. Whether your last experience was helpful, mixed, or just quietly fizzled out — we start from where you are now. No catching up required.

Honestly, you probably won't know until we've had a conversation. That's what the free 15-minute consult is for — no commitment, no paperwork, just a chat to see if it feels like a decent fit.

That depends entirely on you and what you're working on. Some people come for a few months, others longer. We can talk about that as we go — there's no contract and no pressure.

That's fine too. You don't need to arrive with an agenda. Sometimes "I don't really know where to start" is exactly the right place to begin.
